Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic
Wage: $48-$50 starting · Shift: 4 on 3 off
We are seeking a journeyman Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. We are a Heavy Duty mechanic shop in Bonnyville Alberta. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy equipment. The successful applicant should possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical components. Duties include performing routine maintenance, as well as diagnosing and conducting repairs on equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Perform repairs and replacements of parts as necessary.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair work.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Work with apprentices and assist in developing skills.
- Go on service calls to diagnose and repair equipment.
Qualifications
- Journeyman certification in Heavy Equipment Mechanics.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Class 1 or 3 driver's license will be considered an asset.
Physical requirements
- Ability to lift heavy parts and tools.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
- Capable of standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
Experience
- Mechanical: 4 years
